• How much does a session cost?

  Pure & Simple sessions are $225 + HST per person.
  Each 15-minute session includes:
  • Five (5) professionally retouched high-resolution digital portraits of your choice.
  • A private online gallery to select your favourites.
  • The option to purchase additional digital images and professional wall art.

  Every person deserves their own time in front of the camera, so each individual requires their own booking

• How long is a session?

  Sessions are approximately 15 minutes. Our sessions are intentionally short and relaxed. The goal isn't to rush, it's to capture genuine expressions in short, comfortable moments.

• What ages do you photograph?

  Everyone! We photograph humans of all ages. From babies who can sit independently to Grannies and Grandpas. Every stage of life deserves to be remembered.

• Do you photograph siblings or families together?

  In short: no, not during our Pure & Simple portrait days.
  
  As these sessions are often photographed on a small, 3 foot wide backdrop (sometimes on-location at small stores), we stick to the intention of these as individual portraits. If you are looking to display your family in your home, we recommend a gorgeous wall cluster of individual framed pieces.
  
  We DO OFFER family portraits, however that is a totally different affair that requires it’s own portrait session, in order for us to cover the various groupings and combinations at a comfortable pace. We CAN DO this in the same style and concept, on a large white 9 foot backdrop, or we can change the concept for a custom portrait of your choosing, with a different wardrobe and background, like outside.

• What should we wear?

  Our portraits are designed to be timeless.

  We recommend a plain black or white t-shirt with simple jeans or neutral bottoms.

  Logos, patterns, graphics, collars, busy textures, or trendy clothing can distract from the concept impact of these portraits.

  Keeping everyone's wardrobe simple creates a beautiful consistency that allows personality, not fashion, to become the focus.

• Why do you ask everyone to wear black or white?

  Our portraits are intentionally simple.

  A plain black or white shirt removes visual distractions and creates a timeless, cohesive look that keeps the attention on you, your expression, your personality, and your connection with those you love.

• Should we practice smiles or poses?

  Nope!

  The best portraits happen when people simply relax and enjoy themselves.

  We'll guide you naturally throughout the session and create an environment where authentic expressions can emerge.

• How should we prepare?

  Arrive with clean faces, tidy hair, and moisturized lips and skin.

  If photographing children, a snack beforehand and a well-rested child can make a world of difference.

  Most importantly, arrive with no expectations other than having a fun experience!

• Will you retouch blemishes?

  For sure.

  Temporary imperfections such as scratches, bruises, blemishes, and minor skin distractions are included in our standard retouching.

  Permanent features such as freckles, birthmarks, scars, and other defining characteristics are preserved unless you specifically request otherwise.

• Do you photograph in colour?

  Yes. While the signature style of these sessions is a timeless black and white, every portrait is also available in beautiful full colour if you so choose.

• When will I receive my proof gallery?

  Your private online gallery will typically be ready within a week.

  You'll receive an email with instructions for selecting your included portraits and ordering additional artwork.

• Can I purchase additional images or wall art?

  Absolutely!

  Additional digital files, framed artwork, fine art prints, and other display options are available through your gallery after you've selected your included portraits.

• What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

  Life happens, we understand.

  Full session payment is required to reserve your sitting. Of course, if you need to reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible. We'll always do our best to accommodate changes whenever our schedule allows.

• Do you photograph pets?

  At this time, Pure & Simple is focused on people.

  Our goal is to celebrate the faces and personalities of the people we love.
